The 2019 Parts Cleaning Conference has an exciting lineup of parts cleaning professionals ready to share their knowledge of the industry with you. The Parts Cleaning Conference is the place to stay up-to-date on the latest cleaning technology. As environmental limitations become more strict and manufacturers demand high quality clean parts, this conference will detail how to make it all happen, while staying within compliance and on a budget.

Held biennially, the conference is in conjunction with the Precision Machining Technology Show (PMTS), this year, from April 2-4, at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

The learning and networking opportunities begin on Tuesday, April 2, with the general sessions focusing on processes and procedures. From 12:30-1 p.m., Giles Dillingham from BTG Labs will present, “Evaluation and Control of Cleaning Processes.” This presentation discusses the rapid and quantitative evaluation and control of cleaning processes via manual and automatic in-line contact angle measurements.

From 1-1:30 p.m., Darren Williams, Ph.D. from Sam Houston State University will talk about “Combating Label-Phobia.” This presentation will cover the specific roles played by the major components (surfactant, flocculant, anti-foaming agent, pH buffer, detergent, stabilizer, flame retardant and the “special sauce.” This talk is designed to help attendees categorize the physical properties and ingredient roles for their cleaning fluids and processes. According to Mr. Williams, this knowledge will lead to better process decisions, better troubleshooting ability and ultimately, better product quality.

Next, David Gotoff, from Chemetall, will share, “Maximizing the Performance of Your Aqueous Cleaning and Rust Protection Programs,” in his presentation from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Mr. Gotoff will cover the top 10 factors that must be addressed to ensure aqueous washing programs exceed the cleaning requirements, that production remains corrosion free and that the operating costs remain at the lowest possible level everyday.

“Measurement of Residual Particulate Contamination,” by Eric Krause at Pall Corp. is next in the lineup, at 2:30-3 p.m. This presentation will review the process of setting up a component cleanliness measurement specification and testing procedure. This will include discussions on standards and specifications, measurement requirements according to the ISO procedures, equipment requirements and reporting methods.

Markus Rossler from Glaeser Inc. will share, “A Guide to Improve Cleanliness Levels for Critical Products,” from 3-3:30 p.m., which is the last conference presentation on April 2. This presentation will cover an introduction to assembly cleanliness; designing a clean assembly facility; environment; logistics; staff and assembly equipment.
