Layton Technologies has developed an eight-stage cleaning line with a ninth drying stage to replace a customer’s aqueous cleaning and drying system.

The system was designed to meet the customer’s specific process cleaning requirements and enable it to implement some process improvements while maintaining sufficient flexibility to ensure it could respond to any new manufacturing demands. According to Layton, the customer required a quality-built system that offered robust and intelligent program control, was suitable for cleanroom installation, could clean to oxygen standards, and would remove all water. The company says it had to demonstrate that components were completely clean and dry upon completion of the cycle within the required cycle time.

Improved process times are said to have resulted in significant cost savings to provide a payback period of less than 12 months.
