PartMaker CAD/CAM software Version 7.0 supports the programming of CNC mills, lathes, wire EDMs, turn-mill centers and CNC Swiss-type lathes. It includes enhanced machining simulation for multi-axis turn-mill centers and CNC Swiss-type lathes, better support of lathes equipped with B-axis capability, more powerful toolpath definition and modification techniques, and a revamped user-configurable post processor, according to the company.

The enhanced machining simulation allows the user to see a machining simulation within the PartMaker work environment for turn-mill and SwissCAM applications. It includes the ability to simulate multiple turrets and spindles for turn-mill applications as well as gang slides, tool posts and turrets for Swiss-type lathes.

Also included in this version is enhanced support for multi-axis lathes equipped with a B axis or a fifth axis. The B-axis module coupled with Solids automates the programming of milling interpolation on an inclined plane. With the click of the mouse, the software automatically extracts the necessary surface orientation information from a solid model and passes it to the face window where that machining is being performed. The geometry necessary to create this feature is automatically transferred as well.
