The system’s setup time is measured in minutes, not hours. The combination of a computer-controlled multi-ratio transmission and a CNC spindle motor optimizes speed and torque for any job, according to AMT. Ample torque is available to overlap multiple tools at high feed rates or to perform high torque and low rpm machining operations.

An 18-peak horsepower brushless AC servomotor offers infinitely variable spindle speeds while maximizing the advantages of the transmission.  The spindle drive system provides constant surface-speed operation, spindle positioning and more than 3,500 inch-pounds of torque at low rpm.

Turret-tool indexes are completed in 0.3 seconds for single-station indexing.  A 1.3-hp brushless DC servomotor provides 1,400 lbs of turret-tool force.
