Hoffman's Garant Power Q Double Uses Three-Part Cutting Edge Guide
IMTS Spark: Hoffman Group’s Garant Power Q Double all-rounder is part of a series of tools designed for high-feed-rate milling.
Hoffman Group’s Garant Power Q Double all-rounder is part of a series of tools designed for high-feed-rate milling. The tool is available with five tool body types, two system sizes (09 and 14) and a range of material grades for machining steel, hardened and stainless steels, titanium and more.
Stability, reduced cutting forces and optimal chip evacuation are achieved by way of a three-part cutting edge guide consisting of a wiper cutter, straight cutter and finishing cutter. The wiper cutter delivers sufficient surface quality in roughing mode; the straight cutter permits high feed rates at maximum cutting depths; and the small finishing cutter forms short, tightly rolled chips, thus preventing chip blockages in the milling system even when ramping. Optimized insert embedding is said to contribute to process reliability, even at large overhangs. The inserts are solidly screwed into the tool body and secured by a dovetail profile against floating. Tool bodies are available for Weldon shanks, plain shanks, threaded connections and plug-in tools.
Tool bodies are protected against corrosion and chip impact by a hard nickel coating.
