Earth-Chain now offers the ELM-3000 lifting magnet that features a maximum rated load of 6,600 lbs, plus a 3.5X saftey factor.

These lifting magnets are said to be safer to use than sling and strap system because they will not slip or wear out. To operate, simply center the magnet on the metal to be lifted and turn the lever to engage the magnet.

All EZ-Lift magnets are constructed from "rare earth" neodymium iron boron magnets that are five times more powerful than other magnets. They need no electricity to operate and will never wear out, according to the company. The magnets are available in six capacities. They are only for use with ferrous-based metals like iron and steel.
