GenSwiss offers the Multidec Back Tool toolholders for turning operations on the subspindle and from an ID tool position. Each holder is center height adjustable to + 0.20”, a critical feature for machines without a Y axis. The fully modular toolholder system features a range of shanks, spacers and insert modules. The system allows for use of Multidec ISO, TOP & CUT 1600 and 3000 series inserts for use in many Swiss-type machining installations. The system allows for use of any CUT 3000 series insert to perform grooving, threading or OD turning on the back side of a Swiss machine. In addition, the toolholder can be equipped with a Cool-Flex MBK adaptor to provide a coolant delivery system for optimal insert lubrication and cooling, longer cutting tool life and improved Swiss-type machining.

CNC Swiss-Type machines have more capability built in than ever before. Many of these capabilites can be accessed using attachments that increase the throughput of the machine tool, improve the quality of the work coming off the machine and reduce or eliminate the need for secondary operations even for very complex workpieces.

It should be obvious to anyone who has ever washed a driveway or patio with a garden hose: For the best results, you must keep the stream of water precisely where it's needed. The same principle applies to delivering coolant to the cutting zone.

  • Taking the Heat Off Live Tooling

As live tooling becomes more popular in many CNC turning centers, the use of tooling with sealed bearing performance is becoming a challenge for shops that produce components in high volumes or with lengthy cycle times.
