Absolute Machine Tools’ LoadMate Plus robotic machine tending cell
Absolute Machine Tools, in cooperation with Mitsubishi Electric’s Automation division, offers the LoadMate Plus robotic machine tending cell which is engineered to be a compact, portable and durable robotic cell for shops requiring the strength of an industrial robot with safe, collaborative functionality. This cost-effective robotic cell allows for quick and easy setups and portability for low- or high-production shops. Additional guarding and fencing might not be necessary when LoadMate Plus is positioned properly in close proximity with a CNC machine tool. Users can learn LoadMate’s one-step process of integrating the robot cell to a CNC machine using Mitsubishi’s Direct Robot Control Function, all done with one Ethernet cable.
The LoadMate Plus accommodates several Mitsubishi robot models inside its enclosure, including RV-7, RV-8, RV-13 and RV-20 series industrial robots. The cell enclosure is designed to enable heavy payloads and speeds, and, in some cases, might not need to be anchored into the shop floor. The LoadMate Plus can be moved from machine to machine using its built-in casters and then set into position using its ratchet pads or optional floor-mount latching system. Users will typically only need one teach pendant per facility and not per machine.
