Star CNC Machine Tool Corp.’s SF‐25 turn-mill lathe is composed of a 24‐station toolchanger and ten‐station turret with as many as three tools in each station. The lathe is a 25-mm capacity, fixed‐head turn-mill center, which is intended for the manufacturing of complicated, odd‐shaped parts in medical and other industries. The machine is equipped with a high speed spindle of 20,000 rpm to accommodate small tools.

Features of the fixed head lathe include a compact design that requires only a small amount of floor space; a back‐chuck unit that allows machining of all six planes of odd‐shaped parts; a two‐face constraint coupling for chucking a tool in the tool spindle; a spindle chiller minimizes thermal displacement of the spindles; and a high‐pressure coolant unit is mounted as standard equipment.
