BIG Kaiser Precision Tooling Inc. is adding the Quadro 15 Plus to its Sphinx Quadro Plus drill line, which is especially useful for cutting steel, cast iron and other non-ferrous materials.
The drill requires less cutting force and increasing feeds and speeds. It can drill up to 50 percent faster and can hold close tolerances, achieving a hole quality of H7 or better.
Quadro 15 Plus is designed to maximize productivity by eliminating the need for subsequent finish operations, delivering a quality surface finish of Ra 0.8 micrometer. Balzer's Futura Nano Top TiAIN Coating optimizes chip evacuation, increases wear resistance and results in longer tool life.
These carbide drills are made from ultra fine grain carbide and are available in diameters from 4 mm (0.157") to 20 mm (0.787") in a standard length of six times diameter with coolant through. The 15-degree helix angle makes them suitable for drilling for long chipping materials like steel as well as cast iron.
