Handheld Analyzers
The Thermo Scientific Niton XL3 800 series provides fast alloy grade identification and laboratory-quality composition analysis of metal alloys. Typical time for routine positive grade identification is less than 2 seconds--as much as four times faster than the company's previous series of instruments.
The Thermo Scientific Niton XL3 800 series provides fast alloy grade identification and laboratory-quality composition analysis of metal alloys. Typical time for routine positive grade identification is less than 2 seconds--as much as four times faster than the company's previous series of instruments. This significantly increases sample throughput and user productivity. The Niton XL3t 900 series adds light element capability, directly measuring magnesium, aluminum, silicon, phosphorous and sulfur in metal alloys; previously, this was not possible with a handheld XRF analyzer.
The XL3 700 series instruments provide quick and easy screening of toys, jewelry, electronics and other consumer goods for lead, cadmium, mercury a well as other toxic metals. The measurement is completed in seconds and is stored within an encrypted data stream for legally defensible results. All stakeholders can implement a standardized inspection protocol for incoming shipments to verify compliance, while simultaneously requiring supply chain documentation based on empirical testing. New TestAll technology, with its automatic mode selection, determines whether lead is present on the surface of the sample undergoing testing or in the substrate. It then applies the appropriate analysis mode, helping to eliminate guesswork for faster, more efficient screening. The optional small-spot x-ray feature, also available on the XL3t 800, allows users to isolate and analyze individual areas as small as 3 mm in diameter.
