Chevalier’s FMG-1632CNC has been designed to produce high grinding efficiency and accuracy. The series is well-suited for such rigid grinding requirements as complicated shape workpieces, difficult machining material and brittle material with high grinding efficiency and high accuracy.
 
The heavy duty creepfeed and profile grinder is a three-axis column move, driven by ballscrews with an AC servomotor and a 50-hp variable speed spindle motor.
 
The series has users in various industries, including medical, construction, wind energy, automotive, turbine and job shop products, industries that have experienced a dramatic increase in reliability and productivity.
 
The FMG 1632 features four fully automatic grinding cycles, including rapid approach, rough/fine grinding and wheel dressing with automatic compensation. The maximum table load is 3,326 lbs with a floor space measurement of 149"L × 157"W × 118"H.”
 
The machine’s construction includesFanuc 18iMB, three-axis CNC control; maximum grinding length of 32" with a maximum grinding width of 16"; maximum distance from table surface to spindle centerline of 32"; double-supported spindle design with a spindle speed of as high as 6,000 rpm; spindle supported by six ABEC Class 7 (P4) super-precision, angular-contact ball bearings with one set of N-N needle roller bearings in front of spindle; heavy duty grinding with as much as a 6" wide grinding wheel; column guideways with high grinding rigidity; and XYZ axes with precision linear guideways for smooth movement. Dual air cylinders counterbalance the spindle head.
