Software Streamlines Inspection Programming

Optical Gaging Products' (OGP) SmartCAD 3D software streamlines the creation and manipulation of measurement routines and further enhances the productivity of users of its SmartScope dimensional measurement systems.

The software is a 3D CAD interface that meshes with the company's MeasureMind 3D multisensor metrology software and allows programming of an OGP multisensor metrology system form a 3D CAD file, either at the system or at a desk. With this software, users select CAD file features to create MeasureMind 3D measurement routines, gaining complete control over which features to measure and which to ignore. Use of CAD data speeds measurement routine creation significantly.

The software is compatible with IGES files, as well as many other common CAD formats. It can be used online on an operating SmartScope measuring machine, or off-line on a PC. Off-line programming enhances productivity of the SmartScope by freeing it to do what it does best -- measure. Whether used online or off-line, SmartCAD 3D allows access to all the customary MeasureMind tools, and also allows adjustment of illumination, target search range, magnification, tolerance values, or any other commonly adjusted measurement parameter.
