Methods Machine Tools Inc. introduces the Nakamura-Tome WY-250 multitasking turning/milling center. The machine’s construction features upper and lower Y-axis capability for milling or drilling simultaneously on both turrets. The company states that the combination of horsepower, torque and cutting along the dual Y axis can cut cycle times by up to 50 percent. The machine includes 24 rotating, milling tool stations and is suitable for applications from small-lot to mass production. The center also includes functionality to facilitate multi-tasking programming and setup. Conversational programming simulation and optimization software is standard on the system for post processing/simulation processes.
