HEIDENHAIN develops and manufactures linear encoders, angular encoders, rotary encoders, digital readouts, and numerical controls. HEIDENHAIN delivers its products to manufacturers of machine tools and manufacturers of automated facilities and machines, especially for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. HEIDENHAIN CORPORATION is the wholly owned subsidiary of the German company DR. JOHANNES HEIDENHAIN GmbH. HEIDENHAIN CORPORATION is located in Schaumburg, IL 15 minutes northwest of Chicago. Sales, service and all corporate responsibilities for North America are handled out of this location. In addition, training for our distributors and customers is conducted on a continual basis at the Schaumburg office.

Acu-Rite’s 3500i CNC control has been designed with operator-oriented enhancements that will facilitate an intuitive transition for customers to the next generation of control technology.
The ND 200 series DROs hosts multiple inputs, is flexible in its configuration, is suitable for future absolute length gages and features comprehensive functions. The new single-axis DROs come in two variants—the ND 280 featuring standard functions to fulfill many measuring tasks and the ND 287, which is modular in
For users looking for an alternative to battery operated touch probes for machining applications, Heidenhain Corp. offers the TS 444 infrared touch probe. It can be powered by an alternative energy source in the form of compressed air supplied through the spindle of the machine tool and can be used with all of the company's control systems.
Heidenhain's LS 688C linear encoder is a full-size scale that completes the conversion of linear encoders for manual machine tool applications to the 1 Vpp interface. It is available in the common measuring lengths between 170 mm and 3,040 mm, with additions of standard scales available at 670, 870 and 970 mm as well. The scanning carriage on the encoder rides on ball bearings. This results in characteristics such as strong rigidity in the measuring direction and backlash and mounting tolerances, which make it especially designed for use on manually operated machine tools/digital readout (DRO) applications.
