Big Daishowa has introduced the C3 program, an expansion of the Big Capto toolholder line, designed to increase efficiency and precision for small lathes.
The C3 series of Mega New Baby chucks has a clamping range of .010-.630" with a maximum rpm of 30,000. According to the company, these make excellent choices for drills, reamers, taps and finishing end mills. Ultra-slim and strong, they provide reliable gripping for even the smallest workpieces.
Tungaloy-NTK PCD Grade Offers Optimal Dimensional Accuracy
Tungaloy-NTK America Inc. has unveiled its latest development of a polycrystalline diamond (PCD) grade that is designed to provide exceptional wear resistance in hard, non-ferrous metals. DX200 is made of 100% pure diamond using no binder to make the bond between the diamond grains.
Boasting the highest hardness of all Tungaloy’s PCD-grade lines, DX200 is best suited for finish machining of carbide and hard, brittle materials, primarily tungsten carbide, cemented carbide and metal matrix composites (MMCs). In addition, the PCD cutting edge features an excellent edge-line security and sharpness, permitting the insert to achieve optimized dimensional accuracy over extended periods of time.
Kennametal Drill Fix Pro Offers Extended Application Range
Kennametal has upgraded its Drill Fix indexable drilling platform with Drill Fix PRO, offering customers a cost-effective solution for a wide variety of drilling operations.
Designed for extended tool life and smooth drilling at high metal removal rates, Drill Fix Pro has outboard inserts that feature a wiper geometry for smoother surface finishes and larger coolant channels for high-volume flow. Other platform advancements include the versatility of the four-time indexable cutting edges that offers an extended application range.
Drill Fix PRO is applicable for machining centers, drilling machines and lathes. While on lathe machines, it can also be used as a boring bar, making use of the X-offset feature in horizontal cutting.
Shrink-Fit System Offers OneTouch Displays, Rapid Tool Cooling
The Diebold/Accutek US1100 Series of shrink-fit machines combine Accutek’s shrink-fit technology with the Diebold brand of shrink-fit machines and feature the latest OneTouch display and Pyrometer Coil technology.
The OneTouch Display is an operating mode that works in conjunction with the machine’s TempControl (Pyrometer Control) safety function. This feature is designed to eliminate operator errors and the overheating of shrink holders. Also, it means that no selection of parameters are required. Users can set the shrink process with just one touch. The system provides a graphical visualization of shrinking process and hands-free operation with an optional foot pedal. It is also IoT 4.0 ready with Ethernet and data exchange.
