Tornos' new Customer Center Chicago officially opened at the end of April in Des Plaines with guests from across the world of machine tools on hand for the opening ceremony. The company considers the new location an essential link to its U.S. strategy, where the group is celebrating 60 years of service to U.S. customers.

On Tuesday, April 30, a selection of invited guests took part in the official opening. Paul Casella, who has been with Tornos for 50 years, was honored by Tornos U.S. President Daniel Märklin and Tornos CEO Michael Hauser.

During the two-day open house, customers and other guests toured the new Customer Center Chicago, while other activities included industry seminars focusing on a range of topics, including medical, automotive and electronics. As a highlight of the grand opening and 60th anniversary celebration, the new SwissNano 7 made its U.S. debut.

The location encompasses nearly 13,000 square feet. It includes a large showroom to showcase every product in the Tornos range, as well as office space and a warehouse to stock spare parts.
