After 10 years of a successful collaboration producing co-located shows at IMTS – The International Manufacturing Technology Show, AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology and Hannover Fairs USA have mutually agreed to move in new directions. The move gives Hannover Fairs USA the ability to expand and both trade shows the flexibility to look into new sectors and initiatives. AMT owns and produces IMTS, the largest and longest running manufacturing technology trade show in the United States. AMT collaborated with the producers of the prestigious Hannover Messe in Germany to create a concentrated version of the show for U.S. manufacturers seeking digitization and Industry 4.0 technologies. Hardinge Inc. Receives Metalworking Reshoring Award — Hardinge Inc., a multinational machine tool and accessories builder with global headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, received the 2022 National Metalworking Reshoring Award in recognition of its success in bringing manufacturing back to the United States. NIMS created this five-step process — briefly described and accessible here — to address the urgency many employers are experiencing to train employees in today’s manufacturing technologies and methods.

Big Daishowa Incentive Supports Manufacturing Training Programs — Big Daishowa is enabling manufacturers to support their local manufacturing training programs when purchasing its cutting tools, toolholders and workholding products. From Nov. 1 to Dec. 30, 2022, Big Daishowa will donate a tooling certificate valued at 20% of every order from an NTMA member company to the buyer’s school of choice.

IMS Software, ModuleWorks, Mastercam Collaborate on G-Code Simulation — IMS Software, ModuleWorks and Mastercam have collaborated on the development of IMSce for Mastercam. The software solution extends the Mastercam machine simulation with G-code parsing and verification for diverse machine tools and controllers. IMSce for Mastercam combines IMS G-code emulation with the ModuleWorks simulation and postprocessing technology to provide a G-code parsing solution that connects directly to Mastercam.

Starrag Expands Presence in North America, Mexico — Starrag is strengthening its commitment to customers in North America and Mexico with developments that it says will help users of every size and across all industries to be more efficient and profitable with their Starrag machines. The company recently expanded its North American team of experts in service and increased the inventory of spare parts, while also opening a new office in Mexico with sales, applications and service support.

Star SU Announces New President — Star SU, part of the Star Cutter family of companies, has announced Andreas Blind will take on the role of president of Star SU, reporting to Star Cutter President and COO Jeff Lawton and replacing David Goodfellow, who is transitioning to an advisory role with the company. Blind’s responsibilities are to facilitate and guide the sales operations of the organization, as well as serving as chief commercial officer on the Star Cutter Co.’s board of directors.
