RBR Machine Tools’ flexible deburring system, FDS 600/6, was specifically designed for fast and efficient processing of gray and ductile iron castings prior to final machining operations. Automated removal of burrs, parting line fins, gates and other excess material can be done in a single setup. The workholding system, together with a design that isolated the cutting forces from the robot motors, allow reduced cycle
times compared with traditional solutions. The deburring system can be configured with as many as 11 tools using six simultaneous controlled axis for parts as large as 600-mm diameter, weighing as much as 30 kg.

Even when fully configured with the available APC and extra work spindles, the FDS
600/6 uses half of the floor space required by many other deburring systems, according to the company.
