Koma Precision Inc.’s RBS (rotary ball systems) fourth-axis rotary table series is suitable for single-axis VMCs. These rotary tables are built using a ball drive system featuring zero backlash, improved cycle times, energy conservation and a lifetime adjustment-free transmission system, the company says.
The face-plate capacity of the RBS-160 is 6.3” (160 mm), RBS-250 is 8.27” (210 mm) and RBS-320 is 10.04” (255 mm). According to the company, the RBS series tables are rigid and have increased clamp torque delivered by the clamp system design.
Various options such as chucks, tailstocks, support spindles, and faceplates are available. Pneumatic and hydraulic rotary joints for automatic load and unload of the workpiece are also available.
The ball drive system technology features high-speed indexing, zero backlash that result in shorter cycle times and high torque transmission efficiency, the company says.
