A single Nishijimax CNC Carbide Cutoff System can replace three to four production saws. Available exclusively from Pat Mooney Inc. – The Saw Company, Nishijimax Systems cut more parts per hour and more parts per blade than a standard production saw. Developed in 1990, Nishijimax Cutoff Technology was originally introduced to improve the uptime demands of Japanese automotive forgers. By integrating Cutoff Technology into a sawing machine, Nishijimax has achieved dramatic reductions in operations (cuts from 50 sec. to 7 sec.), high RPM with minimal kerf and swarf and greater chip load than any other production saw. Nishijimax Systems are equipped with a range of features that promote productivity. Designed for fully automatic cycles, all Nishijimax saws feature auto loaders and bar stockers. After a bar length has reached the remnant end, the loading table introduces a new bar on the in-feed conveyor. The gripper vise locates the bar and feeds it into trim cut position. During this cycle, the remnant end is discharged into a scrap bin, and the trim cut is made and discarded into a scrap bin. The machine then feeds to proper cut length and continues production. The machine will continue to cycle as long as bars remain on the table or until a pre-determined number of cuts are made. With Nishijimax’s exclusive NC Saw Spindle Feed Axis, a precise feed rate is set automatically and input chip load is maintained. The saw blade feed rate is controlled via an AC Servo Motor with Encoder, a Mitsubishi Programmable Servo Drive and a precision ball screw. Compared to hydraulic systems, there is no fluctuation for temperature or condition of the oil. What’s more, job set up takes less than five minutes with the CNC Controller. Other features include Nishijimax’s original powder metal saw blade brake for zero vibration when the blade enters the cut, a gearbox oil chiller to maintain constant gearbox temperature throughout 24/7 operation, thereby extending the life of the gearbox and the saw blades and an easily accessible oil pressure adjustment valve. Magnetic and drag style automatic chip conveyors are offered as options. The rigid construction of the Nishijimax System contributes to its highly accurate operation, and surface finishes from 40 -80 RMS. The saw head travels on hardened and ground linear rails and the saw blade housing is mounted to the massive saw head. The saw blade is guided into the workpiece by ceramic guides that provide 6 point contact for zero deflection and blade wobble. Nishijimax blade capacities range from 2.75” to 9.00”. Three types of Kanefusa “throw away” blades are available from Pat Mooney for use with the Nishijimax System, including TA-4 high performance and versatile blades, ST-4 higher grade blades for more demanding applications, and TI-4 featuring coated blade technology. Pat Mooney Inc. – The Saw Company’s Jupiter and Zeus lines of FMB Automatic Gear Drive Saws provide production, precision and ease of set-up in a compact package. Featuring a highly accurate CNC measuring system, these saws allow the operator to simply enter the cut length, to enter the number of cuts required and to press start. The machine then monitors the cutoff jobs for accuracy. The CNC can store 99 cutting jobs, and offers scrap minimization. The FMB Jupiter boasts a pivoting saw head that swivels from 0° to 45° in auto cycles and 0° to 60° in semi-automatic cycles. At 45°, round cutting capacities are 7-3/4”, rectangular cutting capacities are 9-1/2” x 6-1/3” and square cutting capacities are 7” x 7”. For both the Jupiter and the Zeus, round cutting capacities at 0° are 9-1/2”, and square cutting capacities are 9-1/2” x 9-1/2”. Rectangular cutting capacities for the Jupiter at 0° are 8-1/2” x 11-3/4” while the Zeus’ are 9-1/2” x 10”. For enhanced stability and accuracy, both the Jupiter and the Zeus lines consist of heavy-duty machine bases, mechanical band tension with built-in indicators, and FMB ACCU-CUT Blade Guide Systems that use carbide blade guides with set tolerances of 0.0007” and with top and side roller guides for support into carbide guides. Both lines feature variable blade speeds of 50 to 260 FPM, heavy duty clamping vises with quick clamp action, infeed and outfeed roller supports, and offer available recirculating flood coolant system. Featuring a compact footprint, Jupiter and Zeus saws each occupy 82” x 60” floor space. Blades sizes for both are 10’5” x 1” x .03”. High performance Kanefusa Saw Blades from Pat Mooney Inc. – The Saw Company allow material to be cut faster and with less material loss due to kerf. The tooth geometry of Kanefusa blades points to lower cutting forces, high blade RPM, high resistance to chipping and good swarf curling. Consisting of cermet or tungsten carbide, these teeth have a 300% longer edge life compared with metal or band saw blades. To ensure that plates are free from distortion and have uniform thickness, Kanefusa Saw Blades are precision-flattened and -ground. Unique plate processing results in run out of less than 30 microns for exceptional cut quality and a longer blade life. A variety of Kanefusa Saw Blades are offered (ST-4, Ti-4 and TA-4SUS) for cutting bearing steel, drive shafts, rails, pipes and more. These blades are especially recommended for use with Pat Mooney fast and accurate Nishijimax CNC Carbide Cutoff Systems. Pat Mooney Inc. – The Saw Company’s Pro Pegasus DS Mitre Semi-Automatic Saws include heavy-duty mechanisms for efficient operation. Featuring 1-1/4” wide saw blades these precision gear drive saws provide 40% greater beam strength than saws with 1” wide saw blades. Greater beam strength results in faster, more accurate sawing. An electronic display of the cutting angle also enhances precision, as operator set-up errors are eliminated. The Pro Pegasus performs semi-automatic operations, including positive hydraulic cutting control, hydraulic clamping and auto return of the saw head after the cutting cycle. Its swivel saw head mitre cuts up to 60º both left and right. This saw head easily rotates via a rack and pinion system. Further contributing to the precise performance of the Pro Pegasus DS are its solidly constructed machine base with locking cabinet, precision carbide blade guides with roller guides and case hardened and ground helical gears. Infinitely variable blade speeds from 50 – 400 FPM are controlled via the saw’s inverter. Cutting capacities for the Pro Pegasus DS are 12-1/2” x 20”.
