Dillon Pie Jaws Provide Maximum Contact Area for Reliable Performance
Dillon’s full-grip jaws provide a solid gripping surface which yields more friction for drive with reduced part distortion.
Dillon Manufacturing’s full-grip jaws manufactured from 6061 extruded aluminum bar stock eliminate the porosity inherent with castings, which increases their strength, reliability and safety.
Available in diameters up to 28", full-grip jaws can be modified to heights of 10" and widths that exceed the chuck face diameter for increased capacity. Maximum contact area from the full-grip jaws provides a solid gripping surface which yields more friction for drive with reduced part distortion. They are well-suited for high-speed machining, as well as precision boring, tapping, drilling and finishing.
In addition to 6061 extruded aluminum, Dillon’s full-grip pie jaws are available in brass, 1018 steel and cast iron. Custom designs are available with specialized heights, diameters and configurations, including a matching serration location which is perpendicular to the slots.

The Right Timing for Quick-Change Workholding Upgrades
VEGA Americas initially envisioned adding a collet chuck to one of its CNC turning centers and dedicating that machine to bar work. Instead, it found a solution that would enable that machine and one other to quickly change over from three-jaw chuck to collet chuck to ID mandrel depending on production needs.
