Kyocera SGS Precision Tools’ TW Series thread whirling tools are designed for high-efficiency thread production in precision small-part machining.

Well-suited for manufacturing critical components such as medical bone screws, the TW Series is engineered for Swiss-type lathes and supports a wide range of thread forms. Compatible with leading machine platforms including Citizen, Star and Tsugami, the system provides reliable, consistent thread generation for demanding industries such as medical and aerospace, where precision, surface finish and process stability are essential.

The TW Series features two insert configurations to meet varying production requirements. The L-Series, with its nine-flute cutter design and two-edge inserts, provides high-efficiency machining for double-start thread operations. The T-Series offers an economical option with a six-flute design and three-edge inserts, providing cost-effective performance for single start thread applications. Together, these options provide manufacturers with flexibility to balance productivity and tooling costs while maintaining consistent thread quality.

Designed to support a broad range of thread geometries, including helix angles up to 30 degree, pitches up to 6 mm and multistart threads, the TW Series provides precision thread production on components up to 10 mm in diameter. Combined with durable coating technology and stable insert design, the platform provides long tool life and dependable performance when machining difficult materials commonly used in medical implants, aerospace fasteners and other high-precision threaded components.
