SmartCAM Software Release Enables Advanced CNC Capabilities
SmartCAM v2026's new features include enhanced tool home positions, group functions, mask/hide options, CTK/MCL improvements, rotation support and more for improved productivity.
SmartCAM’s v2026 software release includes improvements to the tool home position and group functions as well as a number of other features.
Improvements to tool home position include:
- Home-position live tool support – Now used by live tools in addition to the previously supported tools
- Radial and axial tool orientation settings – New radial and axial tool orientation settings to the tool definition. These can be used to establish the tool orientation when positioned at the home position
Improvements to group functions include:
- New named-groups manager – The named-groups manager enables users to group the contents of one or more existing named groups
- New macro xommands (MCL) to assist with groups – SmartCAM has added new macro commands and enhancements to its macro options
SmartCAM v2026 also features new mask and hide options added to the planner, which increases productivity with the ability to hide, mask or both directly from the job operations manager.
CTK and MCL Automation improvements include:
- Automation – Several SmartCAM functions have been updated to support regeneration
- Macro updates – The macro command used to create a regenerative container from the results of a macro has been enhanced
- CTK automation macro path – The locations that SmartCAM examines have been expanded
Rotation support is now included in the define plane rotation tools, expanding the feature to be more useful.
Additionally, the most recently used (MRU) file list will now display a preview of PM5 files as they are hovered over. The software also includes a new numeric format to control the format when outputting decimal values.
