NTK Cutting Tools’ Eco series of thread whirling tools, distributed in the United States by Tungaloy-NTK America Inc., enables users to select the number of teeth and corners on the insert according to the workpiece.
The lineup includes cutters compatible with left-hand threads, which were not supported by the previous series, making it a versatile solution for a wider range of applications.
Key features of the Eco series include:
- Selectable number of teeth to meet user requirements – The conventional cutter had only nine teeth, but now the user can choose from three, six or nine teeth depending on their needs for productivity and surface finish quality
- Selectable insert corner count based on production volume – For small-lot production such as medical screws, the user can choose one-corner or two-corner inserts depending on the lot size, helping to minimize production costs
- Standard cutters for left-hand threads – Previously, only right-hand thread cutters were available, but now cutters for left-hand threads are included in the standard lineup, making it possible to accommodate all types of thread shapes.
