Buffoli’s CNC multi-spindle transfer machines are designed to machine precision parts from non-rotating bars or extrusions. Materials include steel, stainless steel, brass, bronze and aluminum. The machines have a capability ranging from 2 mm to 100 mm OD. The transfer machines include as many as 24 stations and clamping devices (collets or self-centering chucks) with as many as 48 spindles or more. The machines are available in either single or double production versions. Cycle times are said to be 1.5-12 seconds per part. According to the company, because of its multi-process modules, tool changes are achieved in 0.4 seconds, making them highly flexibility production machines.
