Mastercam 2018 Mill Emphasizes Speed and Automation
CNC Software’s Mastercam 2018 mill offers 2D high speed tool paths, 3D enhancements, and multi-axis features that combine with additional enhancements in a package intended to improve shopfloor productivity.
Stock awareness has been added to select 2D tool paths and allows tool motion on the top, bottom or both values of the stock. The workflow for all 3D high speed tool paths has also been streamlined and provides fine control over where to cut. As well, common direction has been added to select tool paths and keeps the tool at a uniform tilt angle to reduce tool and machine motion.
Workholding for turning is usually fairly basic: The selection comes down to chucks or collets. This article looks at when to consider the collet chuck and what kind might be best for a given application.
Few materials have had a greater impact on our economy and industrialized culture than cemented tungsten carbide.
