The OMax waterjet machine, ProtoMax, is said to cut through many types of materials including aluminum, titanium, stone, carbon fiber and G10 composites. According to the company, the machine’s versatility makes it especially useful for prototyping, educational applications or in a large machine shop. The pump and cutting table are on casters for easy relocation. With the clamshell cover and submerged cutting, the machine is safe and quiet (76 decibels).

The machine features 30,000 psi cutting power with a 5-horsepower pump. Like other abrasive waterjets from the company, this machine cuts with no heat-affected zone and no change to the material properties. The waterjet plugs into a 240-volt AC outlet and does not require hardwiring.
