Racer-5 Cobot combines flexibility and collaborative safety features with high repeatability and accuracy.
Comau’s Racer-5 Cobot is a collaborative robot designed to function fast and efficiently in restricted spaces and in a variety of applications. The cobot is a 6-axis articulated robot that can work at industrial speeds up to 6 meters per sec. With a 5-kg payload and 809-mm reach, it is said to ensure optimal industrial efficiency while offering safe, barrier-free operations.
The cobot can instantly switch from a collaborative mode to full speed when operators are not around, enabling its 0.03-mm repeatability and advanced movement fluidity to deliver high production rates. With this industrial robot operating in dual modes, users can install a single, high-performance solution rather than having to deploy two robots. It also features electrical and air connectors located on the forearm to grant better agility and minimize the risk of damage.
The cobot also has advanced safety features fully certified by TÜV Süd (an independent certification company). This means it can be used within any high-performance line without the need for protective barriers, thereby effectively reducing safety costs and floor space requirements. The cobot also features LED lighting to provide real-time confirmation of the workcell status.
The Racer-5 cobot is suitable for assembly, material handling, machine tending, dispensing and pick-and-place applications. The compact cobot can also be easily transported and installed almost anywhere.
