Every month, we’re putting together a Technology Showcase, highlighting some of the product information that PM receives from supplier companies. For December, we focused on measurement technology, which helps precision manufacturers ensure the parts they produce fit and work as intended. Measurement technologies precisely measure the height, thickness and width of a component as well as elasticity, mass, pressure, temperature and volume.
Our December measurement showcase includes a balancing machine to counteract the effects of imbalance for toolholder assemblies at higher spindle speeds; a bore and spindle alignment laser for a variety of applications; an electronic bore gage for precise control of final bore size and quality of purchased or semifinished parts; and more as described below.
