Walter USA has relocated its Americas Technology Center along with the regional business operations from Waukesha, Wisconsin, to Greer, South Carolina, in order to move closer to a growing customer base as well as a strengthened manufacturing presence in the U.S. The new Technology Center, expected to be completed by late 2023, will showcase digitally networked metalcutting technology to provide customers with the latest advances in both testing and training opportunities. Both in-person and virtual training will be a core mission for the new facility, as well as an opportunity for customers to witness application testing on their components remotely, saving them both time and travel costs. Mikron Tool Opens Expanded Swiss Production Area
Mikron Tool says it is investing in the future with the opening of a new production facility in Agno, Switzerland, which includes an expanded, two-story production area of 1,000 square meters. The additional production hall brings the company’s production area to a total of 3,500 square meters. Elio Lupica, the new COO of Mikron Switzerland AG, Division Tool, inaugurated the new production facilities along with local authorities and representatives of the umbrella organizations AITI and Swissmem.

Methods Machine Tool Hires New General Manager
Methods Machine Tools, a supplier of high-quality, high-precision CNC machine tools, automation and engineering services,  welcomes William “Bill” Keim as its new general manager for Texas and Louisiana. Keim, most recently a business sales manager at Zeiss, has over 25 years of experience in the capital equipment and metrology solutions industries. Seco Tools Appoints Mia Bökmark to R&D Vice President
Seco Tools has appointed Mia Bökmark vice president of the company’s newly formed Product Management and Research & Development division. She will report to Stefan Steenstrup, Seco president, and become a member of the Seco Management Group. The company says Bökmark is tasked with helping the organization create a stronger connection to customers’ needs as well as speeding up the development and deployment of new products, services and solutions. One clear aim is to create an alignment with the other divisions within Sandvik Machining Solutions to increase back-end collaboration.

Karl Kleppek Named Jorgensen President/COO
Jorgensen Conveyor and Filtration Solutions has promoted Karl Kleppek to the position of company president and COO. Kleppek most recently served as director of sales and marketing for Jorgensen and now takes over for former President Charles (Chuck) D’Amico. D’Amico maintains an active role in the company as CEO and chairman of the board and will focus on strategy development and direct customer relationships.

Platinum Tooling Now Distributing Rineck Shrink-Fit Tooling
Platinum Tooling — an importer and distributor of live tools, angle heads, Swiss machine products, knurling and marking tools manufactured by various international suppliers — is now the importer of Rineck shrink-fit tooling and shrink-fit machine technology in the U.S. and Mexico. Established in 1966, Rineck started as a job shop for small parts, then became a producer of hydraulic parts for the mining industry and is now a globally recognized manufacturer of toolholding technology.
