AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology, which represents U.S.-based providers of manufacturing technology, has elected its 2023-2024 directors and members for the AMT board of directors. The 2023-2024 board year began May 1, 2023. Daniel D. Janka, president of Mazak Corp., was elected chairman of the AMT board. Melanie Lang, FormAlloy, and Rajas Sukthankar, Siemens, are newly elected board members. For more information about the newly elected board, read the complete post.

Industry Experts Create On-Demand Aqueous Cleaning Program
Industry cleaning experts have created an online Product Quality Cleaning Workshops (PQCW) On-Demand Aqueous Cleaning Program. Barbara and Ed Kanegsberg, from BFK Solutions, and Darren Williams, Ph.D., leader of the Cleaning Research Group and professor of physical chemistry at Sam Houston State University, have combined their extensive parts cleaning knowledge to create the PQCW On-Demand Aqueous Cleaning Program.

GMTA Announces Leadership Change
After 32 years as president of German Machine Tools of America (GMTA), formerly American Wera, Walter Friedrich is stepping down, having appointed Michael Rose to be his successor as the new GMTA president and CEO. Friedrich was one of the first three employees when GMTA — American Wera at the time — was formed in 1991. He started his career at Pittler Maschinenfabrik, where he advanced from toolmaker to NC programmer, eventually transferring to Chester, Connecticut, in 1984 to support the North American operations of the company.

Okuma Introduces New Okuma Factory Automation Division
Okuma America Corp., a global builder of computer numeric control (CNC) machine tools, controls and automation systems, has launched a business segment created to recommend, sell and support manufacturing production line systems comprising Okuma CNC machine tools and integrated automation technologies. The division is based at the Okuma America headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Royal Products Names Regional Business Manager
Wright to serve as regional business manager for its sales team. Based in Huntsville, Alabama., Wright will support Royal’s distribution network and end-user customer base throughout Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee. Wright has more than 20 years of industry experience, most recently serving as senior director of manufacturing for LSINC Corp, an engineering firm and manufacturer of industrial machinery.

Alconox Updates Aqueous Cleaning Handbook
Alconox says The Aqueous Cleaning Handbook, now in its 5th edition, is a critical cleaning resource. The revised handbook distills and presents practical information covering the history of aqueous detergents — what they are, how they work and how to make best use of them. The Aqueous Cleaning Handbook is written by several senior members of Alconox Inc., a New York-based firm, which is a global supplier of aqueous cleaners for laboratory, health care, industrial and related applications for over 75 years.

Lexair Expands Manufacturing Facility
Lexair Inc. is expanding its existing operations in Lexington, Kentucky, which will create 14 new jobs and increase its current operation by 35,000 square feet, bringing its total operational space to over 78,000 square feet. The expansion will provide additional space to house manufacturing assets from Keystone, an Emerson brand, for the U.S. Navy markets. All manufacturing for these products will move from Emerson’s Pasadena, Texas, facility to Lexair’s newly expanded factory in Lexington.
