DN Solutions has announced the appointment of Daniel Medrea to CEO of DN Solutions America (DNSA). Medrea brings with him 27 years of experience in both technical and leadership roles in the machine tool industry in North America.
Medrea has spent the last three decades working in manufacturing roles from the shop floor to the C-suite, most recently as chief sales and service officer of DMG MORI USA. Throughout his career, Medrea has served in technical and managerial positions including applications engineer, engineering manager, product sales manager, managing director and chief operating officer.

Rego-Fix Announces Plans to Build New Technology Center
Swiss tooling manufacturer Rego-Fix has announced plans to build a new technical hub for the machining industry at its North American headquarters. The new Center for Machining Excellence (CME) will be a 12,000-square-foot expansion to the company’s existing facility in Whitestown, Indiana.
The Rego-Fix facility is near Indianapolis International Airport and provides CME manufacturing and educational partners a central gateway to North America’s manufacturing corridor, the company says. The facility will also provide local universities and technical schools with an opportunity to engage with Rego-Fix for hands-on learning experiences.
Sandvik Coromant Furthers Sustainability Commitment
Sandvik Coromant has committed to near-term, company-wide emission reductions in line with the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) as part of the organization’s commitment to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions and practicing responsible manufacturing.
Alongside the wider Sandvik Group, Sandvik Coromant first committed to set targets in line with the SBTi’s criteria in December 2021, beginning a rigorous validation process during which the SBTi worked with the team to help update its targets. Now, following validation from the SBTi, Sandvik Coromant is working toward several revised sustainability goals.
First, the organization is committed to reaching net-zero. When considering net-zero, greenhouse gas emissions are split into three scopes. Sandvik Coromant plans to reach net-zero for scopes one and two — which include emissions produced directly within Sandvik Coromant’s operations and those produced indirectly through heating and power — by 2035. It aims to reach net-zero for scope three emissions — those that result from activity that takes place beyond facility walls, such as the production of raw material and emissions generated through the supplier network — by 2050.
Tsugami America Appoints New VP of Sales
Tsugami America has appointed Salay Quaranta to the position of vice president of sales for North America. As the vice president of sales, Quaranta will lead the sales team, overseeing the Tsugami America business unit managers and regional sales managers in their efforts to meet and exceed the evolving customer demands.

Her previous experience affords her a deep understanding of the manufacturing industry while bringing a fresh, innovative perspective to our growing brand. Pilz Expands Online Safety Training
Pilz is expanding its worldwide digital training offer for machinery safety. With the new “International Training Calendar,” standardized training courses from Pilz can now be attended live online. The training is also available in regions where Pilz does not currently have a subsidiary. Pilz plans to make it easier for users to access knowledge sharing and give them greater flexibility for further training in key areas of machinery safety.
Pilz has been bringing worldwide machinery safety knowledge with its Pilz Academy. Pilz subsidiaries also offer appropriate local training, which takes national legislation and the requirements of the respective market into account. The new internationally standardized training courses in the “International Training Calendar” enhance Pilz’s existing online training offering, taking existing in-plant training courses and redesigning them as online seminars, all with the same consistent high quality. Machine manufacturers and operators alike can meet with Pilz experts wherever they are. Companies wishing to train employees at different sites across the world to the same level of machinery safety also benefit.
