Morris Group, Inc. (MGI) has reached an agreement to represent Okuma Konan products, formerly known as Okuma & Howa, throughout much of the eastern United States.

Morris Group, Inc. (MGI) has reached an agreement to represent Okuma Konan products, formerly known as Okuma & Howa, throughout much of the eastern United States. This comes as part of a larger distribution channel realignment undertaken by KGK Incorporated and Okuma America Corporation. With this agreement, all Okuma Konan products will be sold through Okuma’s existing distribution network. “These are premium products backed by an outstanding organization in KGK International,” says Brad Morris, president of Morris Group, Inc. “We’re excited to be able to offer all Okuma Konan products to our customers.”

MGI divisions that represented Okuma will now add a more diverse line of Konan products to their portfolio; they include The Robert E. Morris Company, Morris TriState, Morris Midwest, Machine Tool Systems and R.O. Deaderick Company. Okuma Konan products will continue to be sold with the Fanuc or the Okuma THiNC control. Tornos US has been forming partnerships with 29 key machine tool sales organizations. Each has been invited to represent Tornos’ complete line of Swiss-type turning centers, bar feeders and ESCO coil-fed turning centers because they have proven their commitment as customer advocates, the company says. W. Douglas Ewald has joined Walter USA as marketing director. Bringing 20 years of experience to the organization, he will be responsible for the development and implementation of all marketing strategies in relation to international corporate objectives. Additionally, he will oversee and direct all marketing efforts for North America. Mr. Ewald will serve as the principal liaison between the company and its international headquarters in Tuebigen, Germany to ensure a consistent marketing focus. Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. has acquired and become the majority owner of Master Tool LLC. Master Tool designs and builds custom, inserted cutting tools. Hirschmann Engineering USA, Inc. has formed a new division, Hirschmann Automation LLC. Michael P. Rogers, the company’s regional sales manager for the Midwest since 2003, has been named president of the new division. CNC Indexing & Feeding Technologies (Wakeman, Ohio) has appointed James Schwarz as national sales manager. His responsibilities include building a nationwide distributor network for the company’s line of rotary tables and indexers, high-pressure coolant units and bar feeders. Schwarz’s background in the machine tool sector includes being the product manager of workholding at Schunk Inc. and serving as business development manager and international sales manager at Chick Workholding Solutions. Ceratizit (Mamer, Luxembourg) has acquired Newcomer Products, Inc, as the third site of Ceratizit in the United States.
