Lyndex-Nikken’s E346V+ presetter is designed to deliver the productivity of larger, more sophisticated presetters in a smaller footprint.

The E346V+ presetter helps to optimize spindle uptime by enabling the measurement of tools for both mills and lathes to be done offline. The E346V+ presetter also helps machine shops be more productive as monitoring tool runout optimizes cutter life and cutting capability. Additionally, E346V+ presetter inspection tools can see insert and cutter edge wear, helping to prevent scrap parts or poor finishes.

The E346V+ presetter features a ground granite base and column, as well as an electro-welded and de-tensioned steel construction, which provides the same perpendicularity accuracy for tools of all sizes. The precision spindle system is fully interchangeable, and the one-piece cartridge eliminates the need for adapters. With 1-μm resolution, length and diameter dimensions transferred to machines are very accurate.

A 15" TFT LCD touch screen provides full operator control and functional simplicity. The software package for the E346V+ includes an inspection mode where runout and cutting-edge surface inspection can easily be done, as well as a vision system that is geared for measuring and inspecting cutting tools. Free software updates are provided for the life of the presetter, and software includes up to 9,999 machine tool origins and up to 999,999 tool table capacity. It is built with a dual lit system, variable LED arrangement and a CMOS sensor. Brightness for optimal visualization is achieved while minimizing heat generation that can distort measuring accuracy.

The E346V+ features an optional Tool Identification System (TID), a two-way communication between the presetter and the CNC, enabling measurements taken from the presetter to be sent directly to the CNC via QR code without downtime. Insertion errors by the operator are eliminated, as well as the additional costs associated with the purchase of RFID devices and the application of read/write hardware interfaced with the machine tool. TID enables complete customization to manage different configurations according to the tool data required for the specific machine. TID makes it possible to view the status of the tool assemblies and the CNC corrector table.

The measurable range for the E346V+ presetter on the X- and Z-axes are 14.17" diameter and 18.11" length respectively.
