Workforce development is one business strategy Kylan Hastreiter is focused on. As vice president at Hastreiter Industries, he leads initiatives within the community for the development of advanced manufacturing as well as innovation internally at his family’s company.
He spearheaded a makerspace with Hastreiter Industries nonprofit in which he collaborated with 10 local school districts, two local colleges, the local chamber of commerce and local businesses to bring machining equipment, manufacturing extracurricular activities and other CNC technical education to his community. This project, called C2 (collaborate and create), will launch this December.

Hastreiter also has been working with local schools and is on advisory committees for three schools to help promote manufacturing. He has

established a yearly scholarship for three students, which includes support for technical education departments.
